Celebrating rugby success

This season proved a very memorable one as we did the double in the Dublin City Council Cup finals held in Donnybrook in March. Our under 15 team snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.Trailing 6-0 to St Kevin's of Finglas a Conor Mockler try gave us some hope at 6-5 but Kevin's held us out until a minute from time when Adam Myler came to the rescue with a solo effort that won us the Under 15 competition 10-6.Captain Conor Mockler lifted the trophy making it a great start to the day as the under 17's were playing St Vincents Glasnevin in the DCC Cup final later on.Dylan Keely scored two early tries to give us a cushion of 14-0 His second try was simply stunning and worthy of any final having run the length of the field weaving past all the opposition.St Vincent's came roaring back though and scored to make it 14-7 at halftime .St David's would not be denied as further tries by Dylan Keely Adam Halion and Conor Walsh and excellent place kicking by Brandon Burnett ensured that history would be made as we ran out winners by 41-7 .Captain Connor Monks lifted the DCC cup to great celebrations on a truly memorable day in Donnybrook. Thanks also to the coaches Mr Costello Mr Lyons and Mr Nally for all their hard work and input.A special thank you to parent and rugby mentor Mr Eoin Faherty for his continued support of rugby in the school.Congratulations also to students Benjamin Deme Josh Henvey and Connor Monks who completed their Leinster rugby coaching badges in January and to Conor Mockler and Daniel Beveridge who played for the Dublin City Council Dublin rugby team this year.Well done to all players and coaches on a fantastic year of rugby in 2015.
